Joanna and Neil's Wedding Sway

After a long night in front of the shark tank, and a couple a spins through the tornado maker, we closed down the N.C. Aquarium with an old fashioned wedding sway. Despite some signs of vertigo, it felt good. Really good.

The Sun Also Rises...

After a night spent driving south along the eastern seaboard, riding America's longest roller coaster, and opening Delawarean beer on the hotel towel rack, we found ourselves on the Nags Head beach at 6:30 AM. Just minutes before the iPhones' predicted sunrise. Would it finally happen? It seemed unlikely. After years of trying we'd never managed to do it before. Plus, the sky didn't look very sun-like. By 6:22, precisely 1 minute before the scheduled rise, we had seriously decided that today was the day—the day that the sun actually wouldn't come up. It had been a long night.

At 6:23 AM the sun rose over the eastern horizon, like you could set your clock by that thing. Or maybe devise an entire calendar system around it. To celebrate, we danced. And then jumped into the Atlantic.

The Miller Wedding Sway

It's not the first or the second Sway at Miller Park, but it is the first one on the field. And with sequence.

The Cabin Sway

Sway in the evening, time for a Yuengling.
Sway in the morning, points in the making.

The Rivershark Sway

It really is a good idea to make sure your shoe is tied before heading out onto the streets of Camden. Even if the only brawl you saw was on the field.

The Broken Ankle Sway

Watch for it. Then watch it again. The streets of Philadelphia ain't no place for a wobbly landing.

The Rape Van Sway

Do not approach this van, no matter how much it looks like that creepy guy needs help moving his couch. Unless you plan on getting on top of the van to do a sway.

Empire Sway of Mind

Late at night the streets of NY come alive with Wisconsin fans, especially after a Badgers win.

The Goodbye Sway

I had to say goodbye to Wisconsin. It was emotional, and re-motional. I think I may have let my body slip into her soul; I know I definitely was inside of her at one point. I probably cried a little too.

When Sway Become 1

It's a song as old as rhyme. Two 'ballers meet on the fast-pitch field—she falls for him, he falls for her—and it's only a matter of time until 2 Become 1.  And we do a Sway about it.

Welcome to Sway Become 1:

The New Year's Sway

Early in the new year we headed out to the lake, for no good reason at all. Jumpshots, Samurai, and general merriment followed. I had recently found my camera in a snow bank, left from a snowangel the night before, and discovered that exposure to sub-zero temperatures is not one of the myriad of ways to break my camera. With a functioning camera, limited visibility, and a highly bundled audience, it was the perfect opportunity for a New Year's Sway.

Chansky's Sway

Last weekend The Triple Wedding successfully ripened into The Triple Sway—three Sways in 3 days
weekends. This time we invaded the aisles of Chansky's Market, and recruited some guy with a pony tail. What resulted was the most hectic Sway to date:

Jerry's Sway

Wedding #2 of the The Triple Wedding happened last weekend. We were out in Oregon where it was beautiful and sunny, just like it is every day of the year. The great thing about McMenamins Edgefield is that they have 9 bars onsite; the weird thing is that those bars only play jam band music.  And that creepy half-Jerry Garcia, half-tree sculpture that we swayed with.

The Mattress Sway

Just because we missed our chance to do the Atlanta Sway between two faux stone maidens didn't mean we weren't going to sway, we just had a less stable base on which to do so.

The Fauxcean Sway

Joanna once made the claim that all great cities are on a lake. Then she used Buffalo, NY and Pittsburgh, PA as examples; the later of course not actually being on a lake and the former being Buffalo, NY. Not to mention Cleveland, The Mistake by the Mi-lake. I'll give her Milwaukee though. It and its Great Lake can put on a pretty good show.

Last week I went to Oklahoma and all I got was this Sway

Do you remember when Julia started dancing in the street last summer? Did you ever think the Sway movement would gain so much momentum in just one year‽ I did. I'm just surprised that Julia hasn't Swayed back in her hometown of Norman, OK yet. What a perfect excuse for a SWAYcation! So Joanna and I got into a car and drove 1,800 miles (2,897 km) to celebrate America's birthday in the heartland. And then we did this:

This Must Be The Sway

Sunday saw us high up in the Rockies on the other side of the continental divide for the Pinter-Sturtevant wedding. We had spent the weekend oversleeping and talking up The Sways / JumpShots, so there was plenty of swayticipation to go around by the time the reception finally got going. Funkiphino had thrown down a groovin' horned-up cover (so many saxes!) of this Talking Heads song for the 1st dance. It stuck with us while we swayed, in a really good way.

Dino's Sunday Sway

Did you know there was a shooting in Milwaukee yesterday? Don't worry, that kind of thing happens in Riverwest. Plus, it happened at least a block away from us. We knew a Sway was going to happen, we just didn't know how tough the sway-crowd was going to be. Or where it was going to be. Dino's Lounge turned out to be the perfect place to grow our swayputation.

The Forgotten Sway—or: Girls Just Wanna Have Sway

I love that the swaynomenon is spreading. I hate that there's a sway without me in it.
